Okay, so I went to the movies

  I'm not into reviewing movies, at least not in this site, but in this case it seemed justified.  I have made earlier remarks about how end-time proclamations and date setting ultimately trivializes the true words of prophetic statements delivered to us from the pages of your own Bible.  This movie is a prime example of this very thing, helping to cover the real thing, causing people to down play the real event, and for others to laugh at the suggestion any such thing could ever happen  after all, its a movie, and so it is. 

  There is just enough factual information to make the movie almost believable and the graphic production of destruction is nearly overwhelming.  It should not be missed, while viewing this movie, the connections with biblical events of the past, such as, the giant arks (ships) built to save a mere 400,000 to repopulate the earth.  Hum, Noah was selfish I guess, building only one ship for him and his family and a whole mess of animals.  Like the biblical account the arks of the movies also brought animals aboard  Humans on one level, animals another.  But, before all of this man saving man stuff there is the worldwide earthquakes caused by the volcanic rifts bursting forth.

  There are, of course the typical range of doomsday signs and bill boards being displayed in the background by the typical weirdoes similar to those seen in cartoons. Topping all of this, however, is Woody Harldson playing a freakish character broadcasting to the world about the coming doom with an attitude of extreme glee.  He seems to be enjoying, his character, that is, the possibility and final destruction of the USA and the World.  Woody’s character is loving it right to the end as he is fried by the heat blast form the eruption of YellowstoneNational Park.

  The movie is fun in a boring sort of way, and is a bit long causing the senses to be a bit overwhelmed with all of the destruction, collapsing building, freeways, churches, and one huge crack swallowing up everything, time and time again.  There is hardly any rest between one escape after another for our leading characters, near miss after near miss to impossible misses and escapes  but, hey, its a movie.  This movie also destroys everything and anything having to do with religion; masses of people praying only to have the church buildings to fall on them  no answer from God.  The Roman Catholics gathered at the Vatican witness its collapse and finally the dome breaking off and rolling over all of the faithful like a giant pin rollers  still no answer from god.  In fact, at this point in the movie, you might realize religion has been rendered dead, no Church, no God.

  The movie includes the pole shift, flipping the north and south poles, and it blames the sun for causing the great worldwide earthquake by sending an abundance of neutrinos (don't ask - Google it) into the earth from a great sun-burst that in the end cause the Earth to increase in extreme heat producing the volcanic reaction that in turn causes the worldwide earthquake leading to the world wide tsunami rising over the highest mountains.  The funny thing is, hardly any mention of the Mayan prediction, just a casual offering.  I was expecting something more on the Mayan Calendar, after all, the movie does get, or is capitalizing on the world ending in 2012 as some claim the calendar prophecies.  But no, hardly anything other than Woody Harldson's mentioning it, but then he is a nut.

  The final conclusion in this doomsday movie is mankind will save themselves, leaving behind all the religious people and their gods drowning in the water and their false hope.  Mankind, on the other hand, with the men of science and world leaders and anyone with a billions dollars for a ticket, escape on the arks to survive the mega tsunamis sweeping over the earth, heading for a grand future of rebuilding civilization.  Forget the destruction of billions of people, people left behind.  The message is simple, man will save man, no god need apply.   

The Truth -- The Word

  What a movie like this does, outside of entertaining our sense of horror and excitement, is to diminish the words of warning we read in scripture.  Our Bible tells us there really is coming a Great Quake, and not just one, but as many as four, all significant shakedowns.  Two, however, are going to be sever. One will move mountains and Islands out of place, the second will bring down the cities of the earth, the works of men will crumble to the ground.  While the movie emphasized man saving man by the works of our own hands the Bible tells us just the opposite (Rev 9:20).  It will not be man that saves the earth, and the people on it, but the Creator Himself   And He tells us that if He did not intercede all flesh would perish (Mat 24:22).  The idea mankind will be able to save themselves from the coming events, prior to the return of our Savior, is a false idea of self-delusion.   We should take the position of God being true, His Word true above every mans writings and proclamations.  By comparison every man and woman is a liar, but the God of the Holy bible is true and His words are true (Romans 3:4).

  What the Bible Has to Say

  #1 -- (Rev 6:12-14)  And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.  And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

 #2 -- (Rev 8:5)  And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

 #3 -- (Rev 11:13)  And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

 #4 -- (Rev 11:19)  And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

#5 (Rev 16:16-20) And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.   And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.  And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.   And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.   And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

    There will be at least five earthquakes of significance.  Two of these quakes will be like nothing ever experienced.  These two earthquakes will be earmarked by events peculiar to each, setting them apart one from the other, and from the rest.

   The Great Quake of Revelation 6:12 #1 -- This quake is a worldwide event causing its inhabitants to think the end is literally happening.  This quake will be accompanied with heavenly signs and a geographical reshaping of the world.  We may see world political systems changed or destroyed and replaced.  Mountains and islands are moved out of place. We are told this is the announcement of the coming of His wrath, not His literal coming.

 The Mighty Earthquake of Revelation 16:16-12 #5  This quake is different in that all the cities fall, and the mountains are totally destroyed and not to be found, unlike the quake of the 6^th seal, where the mountains and islands are move but still around.  Also notice the timing of this devastating world quake is at the time of the gathering to the place called Armageddon.  This alone makes this severe, mighty quake, at a different time, a later time than the quake of the 6^th Seal.  This mighty earthquake will occur in the presence of our Lord and Savior, YaHshua, the only being by whom we must be save  there is no other and there is no other way.  He is the way to life eternal, the only way, not by many religions and least of all not by the works of our own hands.   

But Wait There's More --

   Revelation 8 gives us earthquake #2, but it is far more than that, the earthquake may hardly be remembered after the events to follow.  Reading Revelation 8:1 you see mentioned a space of time, "one half hour".  It seems to me a space of time literally this short, would not be noticed or even have any meaning.  I'm thinking this space of time is actually longer, as much as 20-21 years, and I get that from the "a day as a thousand years" with God, or by Heavenly time (2Pet 3:8. Ps 90:4).  It really does not matter, but it does make sense.  As the events go, the Great Quake has Occurred then silence, not on earth but in Heaven (Heavenly time) the world is still intact and man begins to rebuild.    

  After this space of "silence" we have the flashing lights and lightening and then another "earthquake", and this is only the beginning.  It is what follows this that will drive men mad, even to cursing God.  Imagine, if you can, a Great Quake destroying most of the coastal regions (daughters of the original Babylon), the a rebuilding from the devastation by the survivors and after a space of time (20-21 years?) there is another shaking and events to torment mankind -- there is to be a star shower accompanying this earth quake, followed by a huge asteroid killing a third of everything in the ocean (sea), this is followed by a comet exploding in the earth's atmosphere sprinkling a pollution of some type over the earth that will cause all the fresh waters to turn bitter -- this is the object called "Wormwood".  Remember, before Wormwood there is two other events -- the falling skies (stars) and what appears to be an asteroid (mountain) hitting the earth.

Modern Science -- Modern Prophets 

We have much to go through before we get to Wormwood and before our Savior will return.  There isn't a movie made to match what is really going to happen.  Scientist tell us the universe is running down, it is decaying not rebuilding, however, the false science evolution, would have you believe we are progressing into something better -- a deception.  The decaying process can be seen occurring all around us.  Two primary metals used in determining age, lead and Uranium, through the processes of degeneration, give science information concerning the rate at which the earth is degenerating and in determining the age of specific items.  As these metals diminish true science is able to figure out the rate of decay and compute the age of artifacts, and of the earth.  The problem is, they do not really know the starting point, the point of maximum life of the lead or the uranium.  They measure an artifact they can date historically then set the dating process but the problem is, the decaying process may not be constant.  It is quite possible a millions years may be only thousands, or hundreds.

  We are told our Sun is burning out and one day will die, not if but when?  The Sun implodes, burning earth to a crispy brown and destroying our neighbors, our solar system, and what then?  We, humanity, escape in space ships?  Not likely, first there would only be a select few allowed on board, no one would seriously suggest moving billions of people and their livestock aboard a space ship to wander the universe in search of a suitable home, would they?

  With the Sun gone, earth becomes a frosty, lifeless rock – not much of a future for earth, and mankind floating about in space -- some future. 

   In denial of a, Saving, Creator God, some very intelligent men have visions of mankind escaping to other degenerating planets in just this manner.  Contrary to the propaganda received at the educational institutions, we of the flesh cannot accomplish anything and everything.  That, my friends, is reserved for our Creator, deny Him or not (Mat 19:26).  Still, men of science speak of planets outside of our own solar system, planets they only guess are habitable, planets so far away no one would live long enough to see them even if it were possible to launch but one escape pod.  Escaping earth and traveling space is a futile dream from the prophets of science.  Some of these learned men are better at “science fiction” than reality.  It is a false hope they offer and even if it could be realized who would survive.  Man is not immortal our lives are perishing as were move from one day to the next.  Life in space? 

  Man will not begin boarding space ships to escape into space, as some suggest, dream or prophecy.  If it were possible to escape the coming implosion of our sun, what would that do for us?  We would not change, we would be the same degenerating humans, heading out to find another dying planet, as impossible as that would be, a dream of dreamers.  The reality is plain -- we are stuck on this earth -- this is a dying planet with its dying sun and the inhabitants of this planet are dying everyday. 

   And no they will not be building great boats or ships or arks, as depicted in the movie, to save the human race as this would also be futile in the face of our dying Sun -- the oceans as we know them, will disappear.   Remember, friends, most of the scientist are realist and do not say "if" but “when”.  It is only a matter of time, they say, before the Sun burns out, but they tell us this will not be for a million years or so.  What if they’re guessing is wrong, after all, some say a "million" others a "billion" years -- sounds like guessing to me. What if the millions, they guess, are only thousands, or hundreds?

   Let's assume they are right, a million, or even a billion years, give or take, what then?  Can you imagine mankind surviving a million more years?  We are in a shooting gallery, comets and asteroids whizzing by, the Sun is burning out, rouge nations threatening world war and we are going to be here a million years from now?  How about a million years of floating through space looking for a new home?  The Prophets of science are not holding out much hope, they are actually offering nothing but more of the same.

Another Option

There will be only one way to salvation and it is not as men dream -- not by leaving our first estate and traveling into space looking for other worlds to pollute -- someone did this once and it did not work out too well (Jude 1:6).  We are of this earth we are made up of minerals and water the same elements of this earth and for mankind to take off and leave this planet behind we must take this planet we call Earth with us, the water, the minerals, you know, the dirt. 

  For space travel to be thinkable we must be able to travel at least a minimum the speed of light and when we do that, guess what?  We cannot remain in our physical form -- we would become light and would then be at the mercy of reflective surfaces or dark absorbent surfaces.  To travel space beyond the speed of light we would have to become a completely different being, a being not reliant upon the Earth and if that then we would not need space ships carrying mega tons of food and water. 

   To survive the ultimate end of this world with any hope of continuing on with life we must be changed.  We need to change into a body that will be immortal, able to travel in a fashion defying space and time -- we must be born again (1 Cor15:49-51, Phi 3:21, Rom 6:5, 1 John 3:2).  There is only one path to salvation into eternal life, and that is by and through YaHshua -- He is at the door, the only door by which we must pass (Rev 3:20, Jn11:25; 14:6), there is no other way.  This promise and hope is not just for our future generations, but for us now and for our loved ones of the past and the future.  No one will be left out of this operation rescue, the gift of life, it is not just given to everyone!  That is, everyone, past and present, that will acknowledge YaHshua as their Savior.  (Acts 4:12, Rev 22:17)

 He has told us what is to come, and we should listen.  The Critics and deniers of a Savior point out the believers in the Messiah have not no writings from Him, only some writings of men, of those we call Apostles, but this is not really true, we do have His writings, we have the Book of Revelation.  Many call this book, wrongly, the Revelations of John, but this is not so.  The author of this work is identified in the first verse, and it is not John -- John may have put pen to paper, but the author is our Savior, YaHshua -- read it.  One could even argue the original author is our Heavenly Father, and it is He that gives Yahshua the information to pass on to John, by and through His Angel -- read it!

 (Rev 1:1)  The Revelation of YaHshua the Christ, which God (the Father) gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: (YaHshua, his birth-name restored)

   YaHshua sent His secretary down (angel, messenger - angel of the Lord) to speak with John and to show him some things the Father had given him and to write some of these things down as he saw and heard them.  John however becomes the name of fame in this work but in reality, as you have just read, it is YaHshua's work, a work handed to Him by His Father.  With this in mind we should endeavor to know and understand this book well enough so that when things like the movie, 2012, and other such false perceptions and predictions come along we will be grounded well enough, having a firm grasp of the plan of our Heavenly Father and of His Son that we will not be pulled into this false premise of man saving man. 

  We do not need to be bantered back and forth by every wind of doctrine, myth, old tales and things simply made up (2Pet 2:3 NIV).  We can stand on the sure word of truth, the prophetic words of our Savior YaHshua, about coming events.  There is change coming and our survival depends on there being a Creator, and on a Savior to restore things, to make things new that are passing away -- that includes us.

   (1John 3:1-3)  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world know us not, because it knew him not.  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

Comments on the individual quakes:

#1 Rev 6:12 -- This massive whole earth quake is the attention getter.  This will change everything and even cause those that have been writing about Bible prophecy to doubt themselves.  Who can know the mind of our Creator, of the Living God?  I do not suppose to and the things I write are in no way certain.  What is certain is His Words the words He gave to John, and to make them into something other than what they say is wrong.  When events are symbolic we are told they are and an explanation is given.  Too many, in disbelief, not being able to comprehend some events as possible attempt to give God a hand and tag these supposedly unbelievable events as "symbolic" then proceed to put their own interpretation on them.  Revelation 6 is telling us of a worldwide earthquake accompanied by heavenly signs that, from man's perspective, will appear to be the end of the world -- which it is not.

#2 Rev 8:5 -- This is an earthquake accompanying the sprinkling of fire from Heaven and it appears to be worldwide also.  It seem that after the half hour of silence in Heaven the silence is broken by a new set of events.  I have calculated that this "half hour" in Heaven may amount to approximately 21years on the Earth.  The events following on the heels of this awakening will remind believers that the God of Heaven and our Savior, YaHshua, have not abandoned Earth.  Imagine, surviving the massive destruction of the first Great Quake of Revelation 6 and the survivors coming out from their hiding places to find the World is still alive.  After such an event many will have abandoned the Faith seeing all things continue as before -- no Messiah -- billions dead.  A few years go by, mankind is rebuilding, the dead have been buried and new governments and old governments reforming.  Out of nowhere, fire from the Heavens and another earthquake but not of the intensity or volume of the one from twenty some years before.  After this there are four events to occur in succession -- Revelation 8:7-12 

#3 Rev 11:13-- Each of the "earthquakes" have different characteristics and this one gives a number so specific it seems strange.  I have thought on this and over the years this did not make sense to me. We have seen earthquake casualties much greater than this especially after the Great Quake of Revelation 6, so what would be the significance of this quake?  I believe the answer is found in the response of the survivors, they glorify the God of Heaven.  Notice, it does not say the world repents and calls on the Living God.  No, but a change of heart is seen with the inhabitants of Jerusalem as they witness the two Witnesses stand on their feet, rise in the air (previous verse), and an earthquake striking a tenth of the city and exactly seven thousand die -- there will be no denying the Book of Revelation at this point.  I guess we could say the witnessing of the "two Witnesses" coming back to life would be enough to cause people to glorify the God of Heaven, I know it would be for me, but the proof of the event is in the whole picture.  The complete context is the world "gloating" over the death of the two Witnesses, and the finish is the repentance of those at the scene, the "survivors" at Jerusalem (Jews), not the world.  Maybe this is when most, if not all of the inhabitants of Jerusalem become believers in YaHshua as Messiah.  After all, the words, they will be reminded, come out of the New Testament and these survivors will not be able to chalk this up to coincidence, mother nature, or anything else.

#4 Rev 11:19 -- In the previous verse we are told the inhabitants of the earth are angry.  They are angry about the Wrath of God, and when we know human nature we can see a rebellious nature seeing these events as ungodly acts of evil and instead of repenting and asking for help from the Creator they deny Him and they continue to deny YaHshua as Messiah and Savior, shaking their fists at the heavens for bringing so much grief on them.  In their denial of God they see the Earth as a hopeless place of torment not realizing it is their attitude, their actions that is bringing this about.  The "nations are angry" and willing to fight against this perceived invader.  It is kind of like the Land Lord coming to collect the final balloon payment from renters having refused to pay the rent.

#5 Rev 16:16-20 -- This is the final destruction man has build, of what man has glorified himself -- the work of his own hands.  From this point on mankind will be rendered completely helpless.  The warning here is to come out of Babylon, to not only abandon the false religions of Babylon, all having their foundational origins in the Babylonian religions from the start, but to also come out of the huge, Babylonian cities.  The pattern of great cities is after Babylon and these rebuilt cities will this time be completely destroyed, fallen to the ground.  So great will this worldwide quake be the very mountains themselves will be leveled and the Islands will be gone.  Remember, the first Great Quake (#1) moved mountains and Island out of place but this "quake" will do more than that and the warning is to come out of Babylon and it would be wise to do just that.  Leave the huge cities of man's pride because they are going to fall to the ground.  Your physical survival may depend on escaping these concrete canyons and your spiritual survival on abandoning the religions of this world.
