Two Witnesses of Revelation
By Dan Baxley
More proof the two witnesses are not, physically, Moses, Enoch, EliJah, Abraham, or any other human long dead. The Two Witnesses will, however, be flesh and blood. They will be operating under the same Spirit that guided the original EliJah (Eli-YaH). this is to say, in another way, by the spiritual power that Elijah, of the Old Testament operated under so will the two witnesses. This time, however, there will be a double portion, Two Elijah's if you will. How do I know this? Well, you see, the Bible tells me so.
(Luke 1:17) And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
(Mat 11:14) And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.
Of course there are those that will not accept this, maybe it is too simple. John the baptist was the Elijah to come, before our Savior and he did. John proclaimed the coming of the Messiah, making clear the way for Him to begin His mission of salvation.
Please notice, John was not ELIJAH the person but was operating under the influence and power of Elijah -- by the Spirit Elijah operated so did John. John was the Elijah to come, "...preparing the way..." and he came meekly, not by great signs and wonders but still he came in the spirit the original Elijah had come. Now we await the Two Witness and they will be operating under the same Spirit, the Spirit of YHWH, the spirit of YaHshua's Heavenly Father. They, unlike John will be demonstrating great powers and control over the earth, and the Messiah they preach will come in great power and ruler-ship, unlike His first coming.
