THIS SITE IS JUST THE TICKET FOR SOMEONE SEARCHING FOR ALL THINGS CONCERNING BIBLICAL TEXT AND AND ORIGINS.  BE PREPARED TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME HERE.

A great place to investigate the differences between translations.

The Next site is great for researching various groups, and cults as defined by Modern Christian based beliefs.

http://www.watchman.org/index-of-cults-and-religions/

This site is typical of Christians today, assuming they are the only people preaching JESUS that is correct.  Those they have identified as "cults" are certainly just that and many of those they reveal are false in their teachings and some are totally outrageous.  What is amazing is the method of judgement is by what the Modern Christian Community, based in a large part on Pagan customs and traditions established as Christian by the pagan Romanized Church.  You decide, of course, which side of the issue you are on.

One thing the modern Chrisitan leaders seem to be offended at is the suggestion that we are capable of becoming like our Messiah, that we can become Children of the Living God, that YaHshua is the first of many?  They oppose this and see it as the height of hipocracy to claim we, mere man, could ever become like God.   This has always been something that has baffled me -- Christian leaders taking issue with anyone daring to suggest they could ever be like Him, a God.  The New Testament is clear on this and it does not come down on the side of Modern (pagan?) Christianity.

(1Jn 3:2) Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

(Rom 8:16-17) The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.  Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

There is many more verses to support these and it is astonishing the Christian Community, on the whole, a cult itself, defining others as "cults".  I guess the it is the biggest cult that gets to call all others in disagreement -- a CULT.  Never the less this site has some good backgound information on just about every religious movement there is.

Look at it like this:  There are two trees with branches bearing fruit.  One tree is fed by the main trunk called JESUS -- this tree presents its messiah as a beutiful man with long hair and an almost effeminate figure and born in the middle of the winter, on one of the darkest days of the year, December 25.  This tree, being feed by the main truck is busy pruning itself, calling this and that of its fruits as rotten.  This is similar to the head saying to the hand, "I have not need of you".  This tree sees only the physical unity by it actions of killing its own, burning many believers on their burn pile.

Looking at the Second Tree we see the Trunk is YaHshua -- this Messiah is presented as Scripture says, he does not have long hair and is not a beautiful man that you would desire Him for His looks.  He teaches there is many fruits on His branches, many parts of the whole and makes a sharp comparison in His teaching of spiritual unity.

(1Co 12:21) And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

(Mat 18:8)Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and castthemfrom thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

The last verse has been used as an excuse for the actions of the Pagan Church in burning brothers and sisters at the stake for not agreeing with them.  The instruction from Paul, however, counters this view.  He was not ignorant of the Messiah's teaching but understood our Savior's teaching was of a personal nature of separation and an example followed by everyone.  In other words, what YaHshua taught is the truth and we see its fulfillment historically, over and over again.  What Paul was teaching was directed at the Body (Tree) of the Messiah, YaHshua.
