"Test everything .  Hold to the good."  I Thessalonians 5:21

http://www.bible.org/  This site has a lot to offer.  You could spend all day grazing through their domain.  One of the interesting studies they offer is on the "Conspiracy of the New Translations of the Bible".  I personally do not hold with that teaching but many do.  After all, if the King James version was good enough for the Christ and the Apostles to quote from then it should be good enough for everyone else.  Please, I hope you realized I am making a point with that "tongue in cheek" remark.  If you don't get it then reread what I wrote, if you still don't get it then ask yourself, when was the King James bible written?  Oh, 1611 AD?  Hum, ant then there has been several revisions. Anyway, I do not see this as a point of salvation, but it seems many do.

http://members.aol.com/pilgrimpub/unlearnd.htm  Some good details on the "King James only" teaching.  This site is opposed to the teaching that the King James is the only version of the bible that should be used.  A pretty good job is done in here in bring to light the error of this doctrine.

http://d.webring.com/hub?ring=kjvdefenderswebr  Now here is a great site for anyone that wants the King James only view. Loads of info.  It only shows that you can make a pretty good argument for just about anything.  My personal feeling is that the KJV bible has been in circulation for so long that vast numbers of Christian teachers and preachers have linked their chains of doctrine to this version.  It is also a bible hard to read for many and hard to be understood by those not accustomed to reading "old English" and this leads to the need of a learned person to tell you what it is saying.  It is a power thing.  Many doctrines of the Christian order could be eliminated if the general public could or would trust a version of the Bible that they could read and understand for themselves.  The general membership would then hold the teachers and preachers, that presume to speak for the Living God, accountable.  By keeping to the KJV only argument the power of the Holy Spirit is denied.  I'm not saying the KJV does not have the message, it does, but it takes a bit of practice to read it and not become confused with the long extinct vernacular of old England.  I personally use several different versions for reading, research and study, and that includes the beautiful KJV.  Take a look as a way to sharping you own skills in the word is to know and understand those of opposing views.

http://www.bible.org/page.asp?page_id=706  After visiting the last site you need to go to this one.  Bible.org is full of information on all kinds of subjects and at this particular page you will find an article written by Daniel B. Wallace that will give you an opposing view in about a page and a half.  He does not cover every aspect of the "KJV only"  movement, but he does a good job of debunking the "conspiracy" teaching of the "only" groups.
