These links are supplied as only a small sampling concerning this discussion and the answer to the question of why one would, or should, prefer the relgion of the Messiah over that of Buddha. http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/authors/harris/wheel392.html http://www.sangam.org/articles/view/?id=118 http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/buddhism/buddhistethics/war.shtml http://www.techrepublic.com/forum/discussions/8-194765 http://tkcollier.wordpress.com/2010/01/16/history-of-buddhist-violence/ Buddism is not the only religion preaching peace and then finding itself in the midst of violence itself. Peace is a wonderful concept and as a Believer in the Word of the Living God, not a dark energy source but a living God, a Creator God, a Savior God I have read where His Savior says, "...blessed are the peace makers", and with this in mind we should not give up on seeking peace with everyone. A true follower of the Messiah YaHshua will not only see the answer to the ultimate peace we all desire will only come when He returns. Our life has purpose and we have many hurddles thrown up in our way as we live in a violent world. When we recognize the god of this world (2 Cor 4:4, Satan) the Prince of the Power of the Air (Eph 2:2) -- in other words, the Ruler over the earth and its atmosphere, completely encompassing this globe. Satan sponsors many religions and to ignore him is at your own peril. The true follower of YaHshua, the coming King of Kings, may find himself, or herself in a lonely place among humanity. Have you ever been in a crowded room and been alone? The true believers are few and far between finding unity in the same Spirit of YaHshua. The true believer finds the true freedom from the requirements of the traditions, of the customs, of the man made idols and the True Believer call no man his "father" as having been impregnated with the Holy Spirit of the Living God and Father in Heaven, we know there is no other father for us but Him. Matthew 23:9 says it all. |
