Politics – A type of Religion?

I was watching Bill Maher on the King show bad mouthing people, you know, you and me, people working for a living or retired from years and years of labor.  We, the United States, collectively a free people -- not unlike those in the days Yahshua -- moving along as part of those hard working individuals not so interested in who rules, just wanting to live in peace, wanting to be happy.

Bill Maher, like many of his ilk, being mentally deficient themselves, demonstrated when they feel it necessary to paint everyone (not agreeing with them) as “stupid”.  I use Bill Maher as a representative of his kind and I used that word in sense of another type of creature as that is exactly the way they see themselves,. as advanced intellectually over others.  They, the Bill Maher kind, are ahead of the general population in the evolution of the brain and this gives them the ability to see the ignorance of everyone else, at least this seems to be their attiude. 

This is not a new attitude developed over years and years of mental evolution, no, it is the same old thing and in modern times we have seen this very thing, this attitude of superiority, of knowing what is best for the rest.  This extreme view had been demonstrated in Germany with two World Wars.  Twice the superior German tired to force its superior intellect on others.  They attempted, at one point, to eliminate all the stupidity, all the inferiors, all those that disagreed with them.  Their research in the pursuit of the superior human were eventually seen as "crimes against humanity".  They even established breeding hotels where selected young ladies were sent to breed with hand young men, mostly from the military, but not all as it seems some in authority and in good standing with the political system under Hitler also had access to these young women.  The offspring from these state operated brothels are many of the middle aged people of Germany today.  Okay, I'm a little off track, not intirely, but even so back to the subject.

Let’s go back even further, back to the days our Savior circulated among the common people, a time the Romans ruled, a time the Religious Order ruled absolutely.  In the teachings of our Savior, YaHshua, He has a lot to say to His disciples and to the people but His confrontations, His arguments and accusations are directed at and against those in the Religious Order of His day.  His treatment of the Romans as civil authority for the sake of order was actually supportive. 

Many misguided souls taking up a cause of rebellion against the authority of civil order are in error when they post signs declaring their obedience to “God rather than man” as a mantra for violence against principle authorities actually ordained by God Himself.  Yes, I know, there is coming as time when Satan, that old Dragon will give “great authority” to the Beast but at the present that is not the case.  Yes, Satan is the god of this world, but that is in the sense of man’s rebellion not in the light of “civil authority” a component established by our Creator to maintain civil obedience and these functions of government are not to be taken lightly – they are, for the most part, for our own good.   

In the days of our Savior, YaHshua, the authority He rebuked were the Religious Authorities not the civil or Roman Authority.  He called the religious leaders “children of Satan”, He called them “liars”, and He said they were “hypocrites”.  Sound familiar?  It should as this is the same descriptions we hear being applied to our Politicians everyday.  The people of YaHshua’s day were under the civil authority of the Romans but the Romans recognized the Jewish religious authority over the people of the area just as they did in other parts of their empire.  The Romans were good at this letting the people of various cultures rule themselves while paying taxes to the Roman government. 

The Religious Authorities of the Israelites, however, had become corrupt and had various agendas and programs and used the scriptures as the signature of their authority and power over the people.  Instead of being, or becoming the servant of the people they became the masters.  It is these YaHshua butted heads.  The Religious leaders of the Jews were the political appointees of their day. 

We are living in a secular society and the politicians of today are essentially performing the same as those religious leaders of then.  The Bill Mahers of today were really the Pharisee of then, or the Sadducee.  Really, the political system of then had a two party system, the Pharisee and the Sadducee, like Republican and Democrat.  The Romans were the equivalent of the Feds.  You see, not much has changed only the names.  Bill Maher may object, after all he made a film exposing the Christian religion, but this is nothing but a ploy to misdirect and tear down the opposition to his evil way of thinking.

When Hitler came to power he had many Bill Mahers helping him and they were going to rule the stupid masses with their superior intellect and they almost did – but wait – Hitler, right after seizing power, eliminated the Bill Mahers in a purge know as the “Night of the Long Knives”.  That’s right, Hitler murdered as many of the self proclaimed intellectual geniuses as possible and in their place he put even smarter people, people that worshipped Adolph and saw themselves as pure blood, one step ahead of the Bill Mahers of then. 

Stalin of Russian did the same thing.  Who are the smart people?  Those saying, “Yes, sir, you the boss, you the man” and in support of getting rid of helpers thinking they are really smart, you know, smarter than you or me and maybe the boss too.  All the famous dictators follow the same path and when they finally come into power they systematically destroy the stupid intellect backing them and begin to forge new partnerships with gracious persons so flattered the new boss smiles on them.  It’s history, its in the books of record and it hasn’t been that long ago that we should forget.

There is a time coming when the common people will give themselves over to a leader much like Hitler of the past as a problem solver, as someone bringing peace and order to a specific area of the world and the world will applaud him and support him.  This, I believe, will happen after certain other events of enormous gravity.  When the “abomination that causes desolation” happens in Jerusalem a worldwide earth quake will shake this earth putting stop to the “abomination” -- this “great quake”, in my opinion, will be the event bringing the Beast into power.  In the recovery from such a disaster I believe the way will be open for the rise of the Beast system backed by Satan himself giving the Beast his power and also his Seat. 

Believe me, when I say, not even Satan wants the likes of Bill Maher except as a tool and once the tool has done its job, cast aside.  Beast will most certainly use these types and even give them power for a time but in the end they are bnut tools to be used and tossed. 

So, was YaHshua political?  No.  Was He attempting to overthrow the government?  No.  Was He attempting to overthrow the religious system? Yes, and He did.  Did He win the vote?  No, there was no voting.  Did He attack the poitical establishment?  No.  Did He suggest, even command, His followers live at peace with all men? Yes, He did.  Was against the military? No.  Against the ruling government? No.  Did He raise up and army to overcome the Romans? No. Did he every tell His followers to rebel against any government type they might live in or move to? NO, and No.  Remember, He told us His Kingdom is not of this world and our citizenship if in Heaven and will be here when He returns. 

There is not much difference between politics and religion.  Both eventually center around an individual or individuals of shared power -- power over people.  Governments come and go.  Religions change and multiply but our Savior remains the same, our future in the coming Government of God is assured.  What is our duty then, are we to ignore what is going on around us? No, we are not, we are to do good and if that means giving support to organizations helping those whom cannot help themselves the then let us do it.  If we see people in need and we have the ability to help, then let us help.  Let us pray for our leaders to make the right choices for the benefit of the people they rule over.  Pray for one another as believers, seen and unseen, know His people are stern over the world, one here and another there.

Be on the side of righteousness but take care in your speach concerning powers and sources deemed as agents of our Creator, and I am not talking about preachers and prophets but of government leaders. These authorities rule by the grace of our God for the ultimate good of the majority.  This, however, is in the perfect form and will not be truly realized until our Savior returns and establishes the Government of God on Earth.
